In celebration of National Jazz Appreciation Month, Jazz the Big Band performs at the Valley Park Branch. Jazz the Big Band performs swing era music of the late Eddie Graf Orchestra. Members are: Brent Malseed, bass, Bruce Tournay, piano, Rob Santos, drums, Loralee McGuirl, vocals, Lenny Graf, alto 1, John Price, alto 2, Darcy Hepner, tenor 1, Jackie Chalmers, tenor 2, Kristen Prince, baritone, Paul Mitchell, trumpet 1, Shawn Moody, trumpet 2, Steve McDade, trumpet 3, Rob Somerville, trombone 1, Don Templeton, trombone 2 and Dan Stapleton, percussion. About the library

A newly built, 12,000-square-foot Valley Park Branch opened May 5, 2022. Now four-times the size of its 30-year-old predecessor, it features a Makerspace, an interior courtyard, three quiet study rooms and two 1,500 square-foot rooms for library programming.
