Anomia is a missing-persons novel and an atmospheric exploration of a possible world and a possible language, existing without reference to sex or gender.
Jade Wallace (they/them) is a writer, editor, critic and cofounder of MA|DE. Jade's works include poetry collections Love Is A Place But You Cannot Live There and The Work Is Done When We Are Dead and novels Anomia and MA|DE’s collaborative collection ZZOO.
Anuja Varghese writes literary fiction, speculative fiction, and erotica/romance – and combinations of all three – where women of colour get leading roles. Her debut short story collection titled Chrysalis explores South Asian diaspora experience through a feminist, speculative lens. In 2023, Chrysalis won the Writer’s Trust of Canada Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBTQ2S+ Emerging Writers AND the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction.
Paige Maylott is a Canadian novelist, gamer, and author of My Body is Distant, a memoir exploring transition, critical illness and self-discovery in alternate realities. Based in Hamilton, she enjoys collecting rabbit paraphernalia, retro video games, and caring for her adorable but demanding furry friends.
Steacy Easton is a writer and artist, originally from Edmonton and a resident of Hamilton for the past eight years. They have three books published or under contract: Why Tammy Wynette Matters, Daddy Lessons and 33 ⅓ White Limozeen. Their art and performances have been shown in New York, Edmonton, Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal. They have worked in the collections of the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Library of the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. They were the 2022 Martha Street Artist in Residence in Winnipeg.

The first Hamilton Public Library building opened on September 16, 1890 by the Earl and Countess of Aberdeen on the north side of Main Street West. In 1913, a new main library opened. This building was replaced in 1980 by Central Library, at the current location on York Boulevard.
In 2010, Central Library re-opened after approximately 18 months of renovations. Central Library opened with a newly revitalized first floor, which includes a Community Living Room that takes advantage of natural light. The Ontario Library Association honoured Central in 2012 with an Architectural and Design Transformation award.
