Attend a live reading and conversation with Hamilton Reads author Anuja Varghese about their Governor-General award-winning book Chrysalis. Hamilton artist and writer Sanaa Humayun interviews Anuja. The evening includes a traditional Bharatanatyam dance performance by students from the Abhinaya Performing Arts Centre.
Anuja Varghese is a writer and editor whose work has appeared in Hobart, the Malahat Review, the Fiddlehead, Plenitude Magazine and others. She lives in Hamilton. Chrysalis is her first book and won the 2023 Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBT literature and the Governor General's Award for English-language fiction at the 2023 Governor General's Awards.

A newly built, 12,000-square-foot Valley Park Branch opened May 5, 2022. Now four-times the size of its 30-year-old predecessor, it features a Makerspace, an interior courtyard, three quiet study rooms and two 1,500 square-foot rooms for library programming.
