Author Darrell Epp reads and discusses their new book Permanent Smoke. Darrell lives in Ward 3 and is inspired by it daily. Their fifth poetry collection mixes surrealist humour with urban reportage.
Cartoonist David Collier's work has appeared in Canadian Notes & Queries, Best American Comics, Quebec Chronicle – Telegraph, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Hamilton Spectator and Valcartier L’Adsum. David’s latest long-form comic book is 2022’s Winter of Our Pandemic.

Opened in May 1908, Barton Branch was first in the Hamilton Public Library system. The Branch occupied several permanent and temporary locations over the next 50 years, before it moved to its present location in November 1963. Barton Branch was most recently renovated in 2011.
